This stunning bracelet is inspired by a Minoan gold example from the area of Knossos, Crete, dating to around 1450 BC. It is made up of small links that are basket-shaped, with gorgeous highlights in the form of tiny spheres lining the different levels. We know from Minoan imagery, particularly fresco painting, that females often gathered flowers - particularly Crocus flowers, in their efforts to collect precious saffron.

The ancient miniature gold baskets may have been direct references to this prestigious activity. Many examples of jewelry featuring the baskets linked together to form magnificent necklaces and bracelets have been found; a testament that they were beloved by the women of this culture.

Theia is a goddess that may be traced back to the Bronze Age in Crete, as her name appears in Linear B tablets (𐀳𐀂𐀊). In later Greek mythology, Theia was the goddess of light, sight and eyes, who gave gold and silver their shimmering and brilliant intrinsic value. She was, as well, mother of the three gods of light, particularly the god of the sun (Helios), the dawn (Eos), and the moon (Selene).
