DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
An astonishing Edwardian period colour change alexandrite solitaire ring in platinum. The stone appears a vivid turquoise green in natural light, and becomes purple under incandescent bulbs. The colour change is suitably dramatic, and the stone is certified at 2.27 carats natural alexandrite (chrysoberyl) with no indication of heating. The shoulders are each set with a row of diamonds in millegrain settings, and it dates from the early 20th Century, circa 1910. A rare and wonderful stone, you just don't see these often at all.
